MIZZ
mast head: The tittle mizz is sounds like miss which is feminine , which tells who the target audience is to the magazine - girls.this also connotates that this is aimed at women c2dePink is the stereotype for girlyness so the magazine is for most girls aged 12-16.
strap line: 'The BIGGEST fortnightly girls' mag!' shows that the magazine is informal like it is a conversation ,like talking to the readers as friends so they can read the magazine at home when not at school (fortnightly).
Direct mode of address: leona lewis is the main image so is also the main mode of address. leona lewis is looking at the camera to appeal to the reader with eye contact.
The magazine uses words like exclusive, revealed, real life shocker to show to the readers that they can only get the information in that magazine no where else , making the reader wanting to read it because the language is short so it doesn't bore them and it is fun for them to gossip.
Aspiration/anchoring text : leona lewis is most inspiration for most young females , being a young, talented, independent, pretty women herself- leona has a bright pink head band to stand out from the background which also shows youth and how young ladies care about there appearance and her name is big which shows that she is important topic about the gossip in the magazine-the target audience will be interested in what lewis has to say.
colour scheme: the colours white, pink stand out the most and pink which connotes feminism - the magazine shows fashion which shows that the teenagers are interested in looks and want to be updated in fashion.
'zefron':most teenage girls have crushes so they would read it to know about male celebrities like zefron and this connotes that the girls who read the magazine are heterosexuals(attracted to opposite sex)
human interest stories: 'real life shocker!' 'impaled on a metal spike' - girls who like celebrities would like to know about the celebrities life, so the magazine tells the info about the celebrity to the reader who wants to know more about them.
imagined communities:the magazine shows 'hanging out with n-dubz' :so the reader thinks they know what its like hanging out with them- the audience like the social insight knowing more information about them.
Excellenet this second one is much better that shows you can accurately use media language and explain the connotations. Could you explain the layout? Or even try and use some of the theories we talked about in class as to why the magazine is appealing. 7/10
